From an outstanding private collection, here is a rare Art Deco
Siemens bakelite telephone from 1940's. It is made of black bakelite
and the dial is white and clean and turns smooth. There are producer's
markings on the base. Body is excellent without chips or cracks and
has its original wiring. Excellent working condition.
Telephone measures 7†tall x 10â€wide.

Metal Western Electric 211 "Hanging Handset" Telephone
This desirable 211 G-1 metal housing phone has been dissasembled &
meticulously restored. Refinished with old-fashioned black acrylic
lacquer paint and mint. Works and rings like it did over 60 years ago.
You can receive and dial out calls with this phone.

This is one of my favorite phones because of it's versatility. You can
rotate the dial in any position you would like with it's "L" bracket &
you can have the handset hang on the left or right or even in front of
the phone. You can mount this phone on the side of your desk, in the
workshop, in the kitchen or most anywhere. Western Electric designed
this phone in the late 30s and designated it the "G-1 housing". This
phone is sometimes called a "Spacemaker" or "Spacesaver". That was
Automatic Electric's designation for their version which you see once
in a while also.
Western Electric officially named this unique phone the "The Hang-Up
Handset" or "Hanging Handset".

Has a nice porcelain numbers & letters dial plate. I never use
plastic decals on my dials.
The #6 dial has been renovated also and pulses correctly at 10 pulses
per second (bell system standard).
The nickel fingerstop is polished and looks beautiful and the
fingerwheel & dial center ring are mint.

This 684 ringer box is equipped with brass bells. One bell gong has a
higher tone than the other one to produce a unique bell sound that
only an old telephone can give you.
It's nice to hear a real bell ring in our world of harsh electronic
noises.
I recorded the actual ring from this telephone so you can hear it.

One of my favorite features on this phone is you can have the
handset cradle on the left,
center or right side and you can also tilt the head forward or back or
any position in between.
To accomplish this you have to open the phone and loosen a small
center mounted machine screw
and rotate/adjust the head and then retighten the screw and reassemble
the phone.

Please note that the light reflections you see are not chips in the
paint
but the effect of a smooth mirror flat shiny finish.
I guarantee this phone is complete, working and has all original W.
E. parts.
( the only thing I replaced is the brown cloth 4 conductor cord and
the numbercard).
The brown cloth coiled handset cord is original and very hard to find.

I have been restoring telephones professionally for years and I
use the deepest black paint availiable for that original look.
I do not "powder coat" my phones since the finish leaves a lot to be
desired.
"Powder Coating" does not have the sought after authentic patina
and looks cheap.
I never use clearcoats, paint or any other additive on my bakelite
parts.
I really enjoy working on telephones & I spend many, many hours on
each phone.
I never take shortcuts or skip details to compromise the quality.

The beautiful thermoplastic outer box cover on the 684 ringer box has
no chips or cracks.
Bell box is restored inside and out and has the original Western
Electric ringer, capacitor
and 101-A induction coil (marked II-38) for clear sound transmission.
The back plate still has it's red (684 II-38) stamp.

This phone has a nice new brown cloth 4 conductor mounting cord which
goes from the phone to the 684 bell box and 10' of nice new brown
cloth line cord with
modern modular plug from bell box to wall jack. You can mount the bell
box on the wall
or on the side of your desk like they used to do years ago.

I double box pack with bubble wrap & peanuts & I will assure you that
your phone arrives to you safely.
