1915 indian head gold $2.50 dollar quarter eagle coin
Last Price: $212.50 Ending Date and Time (GMT): 2004-10-29 00:15:00 Quarter eagle - This is a 1915 indian gold quarter eagle gold coin.
This 90 year old coin is in amazing condition and would grade very
high. As you can see it has perfect detailing on the indian head
feather and also has rare detailing on the eagles wings. In my opinion
this is a ms 60++...
Bonus - As a bonus I will add this rainbow colored indian head penny.
I don't know anything about these pennies but it sure is a beauty.
Why buy gold coins - Gold has been going steadily up the past year and
most anaylsis believe that gold will go about 500 dollar an
ounce. Also according to "coin world", quarter eagle coins are one of
the hottest coins on the market and with a limited supply it is hard
to find them in such great condition.
Why buy from me - I am an expert on gold coins especially the quarter
and half eagle coins and have been a dealer for the past 5 years. I
only purchase high grade gold coins and often travel the country going
to coin shows or large events searching for those rare mint state gold
coins.
PCGS values - Ms 65- $9,000
Ms 66- $20,000
The pictures - I offer you two different photos of the coin to show
you the different coins in different lights. This allows you to see
the detailing on the feathers, which is what the graders are key on.
Return policy - If you for whatever reason are not satisified with
your coin, contact me within 5 days of receiving the coin and I will
offer you a full refund. (minus the ebay fees and shipping)
My other auctions - Please check out my other auctions as I will have
other high grade gold coins on auction all week.....thanks

Kennedy Half Dollar History: Any American alive 1963 can remember
exactly what he or she was doing and were he or she was at the moment
they heard the news the President John F. Kennedy had been murdered.
It is known as the shot heard around the world and the nation cried
for weeks. It was decided by the Director of the Mint, Miss Eva Adams,
shortly after the Kennedy's death to memorize Kennedy's likeness on a
U.S. Coin. She did not want to replace Washington on the quarter so
the half Dollar was chosen. Work had to be done fast as the mint did
not want to make any Ben Franklin type half dollars dated 1964. There
was also a legal problem. Under existing law, U.S. coin designs could
only be changed every 25 years. The Franklin half was only 15 years
old and to change it would literally require an act of Congress. Still
in morning, the few disputes against the Kennedy half dollar were
quickly set aside and with The Act of December 30, 1963 congressed
passed the change in the coin design. The Kennedy bust to the coin was
sculpted by Gilroy Roberts while his longtime assistant, Frank
Gasparro prepared the reverse side with the presidential seal. The
coin was minted to 30.3 millimeters with a weight of 12.5 grams and a
composition of 90% silver and 10% copper (Net weight silver: 0.36169
ounce. The Kennedy half dollar quickly became one of the most popular
coins in history, despite limiting the number of coins they would sell
to each person, banks could not keep up with the demand, few of the
early coins ever made circulation. In 1965, Congress opted to remove
the silver from quarters and dimes but reached a compromise with the
Kennedy half dollar. The silver content was reduced and was bonded
almost entirely at the coins surface. During 1973 US President Richard
Nixon signed a law that would allow our coinage to carry different
designs in 1975 and 1976 to celebrate the nation's Bicentennial. (All
coin changes must be approved by Congress and the President). The
coins chosen to charge were the quarter, the half dollar and the
dollar. An open competition was given and the half dollar design was
awarded to sculptor Seth G. Huntington. The reverse displays
Independence Hall in Pennsylvania. "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" is
written across the top, and "HALF DOLLAR" across the bottom. To the
left of the Hall is "200 YEARS OF FREEDOM" and to the right of the
Hall is "E PLURIBUS UNUM", with Huntington's initials below the first
part of "UNUM". The obverse (or face side of the coin) was left alone
with the exception of the date. These coin was struck in Philadelphia,
Denver and San Francisco. Philadelphia coins bear no mint
mark.President John F. Kennedy Information: Of Irish descent, he was
born in Brookline, Massachusetts, on May 29, 1917. Graduating from
Harvard in 1940, he entered the Navy. In 1943, when his PT boat was
rammed and sunk by a Japanese destroyer, Kennedy, despite grave
injuries, led the survivors through perilous waters to safety. Back
from the war, he became a Democratic Congressman from the Boston area,
advancing in 1953 to the Senate. He married Jacqueline Bouvier on
September 12, 1953. In 1955, while recuperating from a back operation,
he wrote Profiles in Courage, which won the Pulitzer Prize in history.
In 1956 Kennedy almost gained the Democratic nomination for Vice
President, and four years later was a first-ballot nominee for
President. Millions watched his television debates with the Republican
candidate, Richard M. Nixon. Winning by a narrow margin in the popular
vote, Kennedy became the first Roman Catholic President. His Inaugural
Address offered the memorable injunction: "Ask not what your country
can do for you--ask what you can do for your country." As President,
he set out to redeem his campaign pledge to get America moving again.
His economic programs launched the country on its longest sustained
expansion since World War II; before his death, he laid plans for a
massive assault on persisting pockets of privation and poverty.
Shortly after his inauguration, Kennedy permitted a band of Cuban
exiles, already armed and trained, to invade their homeland. The
attempt to overthrow the regime of Fidel Castro was a failure. Soon
thereafter, the Soviet Union renewed its campaign against West Berlin.
Kennedy replied by reinforcing the Berlin garrison and increasing the
Nation's military strength, including new efforts in outer space.
Confronted by this reaction, Moscow, after the erection of the Berlin
Wall, relaxed its pressure in central Europe. Instead, the Russians
now sought to install nuclear missiles in Cuba. When this was
discovered by air reconnaissance in October 1962, Kennedy imposed a
quarantine on all offensive weapons bound for Cuba. While the world
trembled on the brink of nuclear war, the Russians backed down and
agreed to take the missiles away. The American response to the Cuban
crisis evidently persuaded Moscow of the futility of nuclear
blackmail. Kennedy now contended that both sides had a vital interest
in stopping the spread of nuclear weapons and slowing the arms race--a
contention which led to the test ban treaty of 1963. The months after
the Cuban crisis showed significant progress toward his goal of "a
world of law and free choice, banishing the world of war and
coercion." His administration thus saw the beginning of new hope for
both the equal rights of Americans and the peace of the world. On
November 22, 1963, when he was hardly past his first thousand days in
office, John Fitzgerald Kennedy was killed by an assassin's bullets as
his motorcade wound through Dallas, Texas. Kennedy was the youngest
man elected President; he was the youngest to die.
