THIS IS A VINTAGE 14" MADAME ALEXANDER SNOW WHITE #1455 ,ALEXANDER DOLL
CO., NEW YORK, N.Y. I am not poisitve of this but I believe this doll
was made in the late 60's. She stands 14" tall and is MINT CONDITION
and comes in her origianl box with original tissue. She has all her
original tags. She has dark brown hair with a white ribbon with bow
tied around her hair. She has dark sleep eyes. She is wearing a
beauitiful white sheer material gown that is trimmed in white satin
ribbons. Her petticoat is silk like material with white netting
attached under it to give the gown a full look. She has nylon
stockings on and silver slippers. She is wearing a White silk like
cloak with a sparkly lace attached to it . The collar stands up and
the cloak is tied with a white satin ribbon. All her colors are

NWT Off White Bufi Christening Doll Gown 12 mos Vintage

This is an absolutely stunning gown by Bufi and is made in Italy. It
is an off white color, giving it a vintage look. Very hard to
photograph, though! It features a peter pan collar trimmed with
lace. Three rosettes tie at bodice with a ribbon and sit atop a lace
inset. Two other lace insets are in the skirt. Three button back
closure with gorgeous tie belt. Lined with soft flannel type material
so no itching. Has a tulle layer between the lining and the outer
skirt for additional "poof!"
NOTE: AS GORGEOUS AS THIS GOWN IS, THERE ARE SOME MINOR FLAWS! This
is why I have listed it as a doll gown as well.
1. There appears to be a small pencil mark on the bodice. It can be
seen on the left of the fourth photo. I have not tried to remove
this.
2. There is a small "spot" about the size of a pea on the gown's left
sleeve. It is pale brown in color. This too, can be seen in the
fourth photo. Look at the right of the photo. I have not tried to
remove this.
3. There is an additional smaller "spot" the same color about halfway
down the same sleeve. See fifth photo. This photo is enlarged and
shows the spot larger than it is. I have not tried to remove this.
4. The most serious flaw is the appearance of grease on the cuff of
the left sleeve. I tried to remove it with a dry cleaning solution
and was unable to do so. See last photo.
This is what was recommended by a tailor / seamstress. The material
is made of polyester and new sleeves could be made quite easily. They
could have a lace layer over them just in case the material is not an
exact match. If you don't want to replace the sleeves, you can simply
place a lace layer over the cuffs, thus hiding the most serious flaw.
This would be an ideal solution if the gown ends up on a doll.
This gown retailed for close to $200.00 new. It has been never worn
and still has its tags. It could work out for the person who can give
it a little TLC.
Here are the measurements:
34.5 inches long from top button to hem. Chest is 11 inches from
armpit to armpit. Sleeves are 11 inches long from shoulder seam to
end.
I'm starting this with a low opening bid due to the flaws. I think it
is truly workable for the person either willing to overlook the flaws
or willing to do a small amount of work on it. I was tempted to have
the sleeves replaced myself, but then I'd have to charge for that!
Perhaps the winning bidder will be able to do the work him/herself!

from a smoke free home.
