I just got back from a sad occasion... A long established Cigar, pipe
and tobbaco shop recently closed due to the death of the owner. The
contents went up for auction. Most of the bidders concentrated on the
remaining cigars, I went for the antique and collectable items ...The
really cool stuff that you will not see again. Functional, yet
beautiful, Quality of a by-gone era ...

Highly Collectable Ashtray
Here are the details... First, I lied...
* First, I know that these were not intended to be ashtrays. The
original design was flower petal shaped "Candy" dish. That was
the intended purpose
* Americans used these as ashtrays. The bowl is the perfect size,
and the ridges between the petals makes for a perfect cigarette /
cigar slot, so, listing this as an ashtray is not truly correct,
but is non the less accurate
* Does not make it less collectable, simply want to be accurate
Now for the real details...This is the truth...
*
* Definately Italian...The end where the galss was clipped from the
blowing tube is filed and finished, the place where the bird is
connected to the bowl is well thought out and incorporated into
the design. The head is twirled into a difficult to do swirl
* A great piece, very beautiful...The bowl is 8 inches round ...The
dove spreading tail is 6 inches tall, and 4 inches wide
* Heavy Lead blown glass, combination of end of the day spotted
blue, orange, yellow, brownpurple and green spots on a milk white
and clear background (mostly all the difficult to do milk white
color). This piece weighs in at 2 and 1/2 pounds ...
* Large (large enough for cigars, the slots are more appropriately
sized for cigarette smokers)
* Detailed finishing touches, such as ribbing of the wings, "extra"
crown feathers on top of head, and this beautiful rare end of day
spoting color. BTW, end of day refers to the coloring. Generally
at the end of the day, the artist will "squeeze" out one more
piece, using the left over colors he used during the entire day.
Thus, he can only make one of these items per day, and many
collectors feel they are more rare and collectable than a solid
colored piece.
* Perfect, clean, no ash marks, no burnt marks...It is like new
condition, stored in a glass display case
* Clean enough to use as a candy dish!!!
* Absolutely no chips, breaks, repairs, etc. This is like new,
although it is at least 40 years old
* These items MUST have insurance added to the shipping cost. I
guarantee these will arrive in the condition described. I will
wrap, bubble wrap and use shipping peanuts...I will ship lile I
would want this shipped to me

Great care will be taken in shipping so that your collectable arrives
in perfect condition...buy from a geek (me), I know how you want your
items shipped! I use new solid boxes, and plenty of bubblewrap. I
have never had a glass item arrive broken. I care about your
collectable (it's yours after I get paid, but I will ship like it was
mine).
I do accept foreign bids bidders, but please confirm shipping costs
prior to bidding. Foreign deliver @2 weeks...

Vintage Glass Sugar Bowl w/ Stainless Steel Lid

You are looking at a neat old glass sugar bowl with a metal lid,
probably used in a restaurant. The bowl is made of thick glass and
has a lined pattern. The lid is stainless steel and has a knob and a
hole for the spoon, which is not included. It is hinged and is
seemingly permanently attached to the bowl; however, I’m sure one
could pry the top off if they wanted to just use the bowl. This is in
good condition (very minor wear). There are no chips, cracks, etc.
The bottom of the bowl says: BLOOMFIELD CHICAGO, ILL. The underside
of the lid says: BLOOMFIELD INDUSTRIES CHICAGO. USA STAINLESS STEEL.
It's dimensions are 3-1/4" in height by 5" diameter on top by 3"
diameter on bottom. It weighs 1 lbs. 2 oz. Please e-mail me with any
