THIS PRINT WAS FOUND IN AN ANTIQUE SHOP IN CALIFORNIA. I HAVE OWNED IT
FOR YEARS BUT HAVE TO GIVE UP SOME OF MY COLLECTION. IT MEASURES 24
3/4 X 16 1/2. IT IS SIGNED IN THE PRINT, NOT HAND SIGNED. THE PRINT IS
IN GOOD CONDITION, THERE IS A LITTLE DISCOLORATION BUT OVERAL ITS NICE
FOR ITS AGE . THE GLASS WILL HAVE TO BE CHANGED BY MY LOCAL FRAME
SHOP TO PLEXIGLASS FOR SAFE SHIPPING, AT THAT TIME THE FRAMING WILL BE
MUCH IMPROVED, BUT WILL STAY AS ORIGINAL AS POSSIBLE.

"Hy Hintermeister"
If you wish to find additional info on this artist, simply search "Hy
Hintermeister" on any search engine (endless pages & sites). Henry
(Hy) Hintermeister American, 1897-1972. John Henry "Hy" Hintermeister
was born in 1869 in Winterthur, Switzerland. After studying art at the
University of Zurich, John turned down a teaching position in favor of
immigrating to the United States where he found work as a courtroom
artist for a local New York paper. His successful courtroom works soon
shifted focus to illustration and magazine cover art. He worked with
several calendar art companies including Brown and Bigelow, The
Osborne Co., Louis F. Kemper Thomas and American Art Works.Referred to
as John by his friends and family, he signed his art "Hy
Hintermeister". From the 1890s-1940s John, along with his son, Henry,
worked together producing over 1,050 illustrations that were
reproduced as prints and as jigsaw puzzles. Both artists used
identical signatures making distinction of their work nearly
impossible. They were a prolific and well-respected team. They are
listed in Davenports, Askart, Who's, Artnet, ADEC & various

What a shame this sweet little Hula Girl has some damage but she
really needs an appreciative home. Made from papier mache she sports a
grass skirt ( feels like natural fiber) over her spring bobble body. I
guess she swayed right off of her base and even skinned her arm! But
some of the pieces are there and since she is paper mache she could
easily be repaired. For that reason I am starting with a low opening
bid and no reserve. This one is 6" tall and has a beautiful face with
all original paint. She looks to be from the 1940's or 50's. Very
Nice! Don't let her get away!

Great vintage tv lamp with a Hawaiian/Hula girl with Hibiscus in her
hair. In great condition with only a few knicks. Has been repaired on
the back as you can see in the photo. Look great lit or un-lit. In
good working order. 15" wide and 12" high. Winning bidder to pay for
actual postage plus 50 cents for wrapping materials. Good luck. Will
look great in a Florida/Tiki or Hawaiian style room..
