SIZE - This cute Japanese kokeshi doll item is 4 1/4 inches tall
and mounted on a 2 by 4 1/2 inch wooden platform. This one has a
signed name plate and is signed under it. The heads do move.
CONDITION - is very good and I don't know its exact age. My guess is
they are around 30 years old and looks great. They will make a nice
adition to your collection or to start one.
SHIPPING - is $5. by regular air mail which takes from 9-12 days
delivery from Japan. If you want registered mail just ask but it will
cost $5. more to do that. I've been selling on ebay for 5 years
and haven't really had any shipping problems. Shipping is based on
the weight and size of the package and the delivery date will depend
on the postal service in your area.
PAYMENT - is by PayPal only and is due within 3 days of the auction
ending date. If you have a problem with that please contact me in
advance otherwise the transaction is off and the item will be
relisted. I do support ebay's non paying bidder policy so please
don't bid if you can follow our terms or make your paypal payment.

Remarks: This is a souvenir of Hagi in Yamaguchi Pre. The orange is
very famous there, so this is shaped into the orange. The straw
rain-cape behind the dolls was raincoat in those days.

Description: This is a Vintage JAPANESE WOODEN KOKESHI PAIR -- Boy
Pulling a Girl on a Sled. This piece is an older example of fine
Japanese folk art. The piece features a peasant boy pulling a peasant
girl on a sled. The dolls are made completely of wood, with painted
features, the sled is made of wooden slats, the reins are made of
string, there is a bundle wrapped in straw on the sled, the hats are
made of straw and cotton fabric, and the base is wooden with a sand
surface. The measurements are 9" long and 5" tall. A lovely addition
to a collection of dolls from Japan. Please see my other Japanese
kokeshi dolls for auction this week!
Condition: Very good condition, coming from a smoke free environment.
All parts are intact, paint is nice, no loose pieces. Small bit of
residual paper on side of sled. It does however look as though the
girl's left arm has been reglued.
Shipping: Domestic winner to pay $4.00 Priority Mail shipping.
Shipping to Hawaii and Alaska may be more than quoted. Optional
delivery confirmation is extra ($.55). Optional insurance is extra
($1.30 for coverage up to $50; $2.20 for coverage up to $100, etc.).
Seller cannot be responsible for packages that are not insured.
