2 X DEEPLY CARVED VINTAGE IVORY NAPKIN RINGS – ART DECO STYLE >>>>>
This is a delightful pair – they are matched – done by the same
hand with a slight difference in design between the two.
The Deco style pattern is stylized leaves on the diagonal –
beautifully done with the central vein and lines emanating outwards.
On the one the leaves terminate in a curl with a circle and a hole in
the center – this one has 8 leaves. The second one the pattern is
similar but in reverse in that the curl and hole are at the top of the
leaf – the leaves are larger and there are 5 of them.
The design is wonderfully framed by a plain, simple edge on each side
dividing the pattern with a singular line. The lovely genuine ivory
tell tale hatching is visible along the edges.
They measure 1 5/8†across edge to edge, 1 ½†across the interior
and a side wall width of ¾â€.
IF YOU COLLECT DIFFERENT NAPKIN RINGS/OLD IVORY THESE ARE INTERESTING
AND A GREAT DESIGN – THEY MAKE FABULOUS LITTLE DISPLAY STANDS.
I agree with the current ban and Cities restrictions however believe
that old ivory should be used and enjoyed.
