This is definitely from the Victorian romantic period, in my opinion,
when the use of blue zircon was often used. Just so those who do not
know, blue zircon is not cubic zirconium. Zircon is a naturally mined
gemstone that was used as a replacement for diamonds during the
Victorian period because of its fire and brilliance- similar to that
of fine diamonds. I'm making an uneducated guess that the center light
ice blue stone is a starlight blue zircon. I tested it with my diamond
tester, and it did move up the scale two notches. Also the brilliance
and fire of colors in this stone is amazing to say the least! It truly
sparkles like that of a diamond. That zircon stone measures a large
7mm in circumference and it does show wear, but nothing a jeweler
couldn't polish up- and it in no way stops the dramatic sparkle it
puts out. I would suggest with a ring as fine as this one that you
have it checked and cleaned by your jeweler- it does have a rattle so
the stone must be loose, but it is bezel set and I can't foresee it
falling out. The onyx is also very large, it measures 20mm long and
15mm wide. The setting is breathtaking- you can see by the photos that
the onyx is wrapped in light green gold leaf or scroll of some sort.
Where the shank meets the ring gallery between those leaves is a tiny
rose gold flower. I've never seen another ring like this- and I'm
confident that whomever wins this ring will be extremely happy. I'll
let the photos speak for themselves- this is a must have for any
Victorian jewelry collector. It would also make a much appreciated
holiday gift for the zircon, onyx or vintage jewelry lover. A nice
ring size too (size 9)- perfect for the larger woman! There are 6

I'm not a qualified jeweler, so all descriptions are honestly given as
I evaluate each piece of used jewelry or item. I can only guess as to
the carat, cut, clarity, or type of gems/stones I place for auction.
As far as the gold goes, if it's stamped/hallmarked I go by that, if
it isn't, I will occasionally have it tested by my jeweler. I have
gold testing acid, but I'm a beginner when it comes to that, so if you
find something that isn't stamped gold and I say it is gold and it
isn't, I will refund your money (including shipping). I do have a
diamond tester, so I can confirm jewelry containing actual diamonds. I
will work with you if you feel you have a justifiable complaint or I
did not mention a major noticeable flaw, but do not expect returns for
buyer's remorse. All items are used and not in new condition.
