This is a black and chrome radio small in size {4 1/2" X 3 1/2" X 1
1/2"
It operates off a 9V battery {not included}. It plays with good
volume and "scratchiness" in the tuner and volume controls. Its
antenna extends out to 14 1/2".
Cosmetically this radio is very clean. For persnickity collectors this
one is not mint. It is a good example of an early collectible
portable transistor radio.

This auction is for an Antique Radio made by the Admiral Corporation
in 1946. This radio is in Excellent Condition and it still works. The
power cord has been replaced. This machine is model 6E1 and the serial
number is 643690. This is beautiful piece that is covered with a fake
leather/alligator skin material. It has 2 leather covered handles, and
was a perfect classy, portable radio for the time period. Do not miss
your chance to own a piece of radio history.

VINTAGE OLD RADIO EMERSON PORTABLE TUBE MODEL 553A

Up for auction is a Emerson Portable "Suitcase type" AM Radio. The
outer covering is intact, but could use a little TLC. The dial cord
is broken and the line cord is cracked and needs replacing. There are
some fine cracks in both upper cornors of the plastic surrounding the
numbered glass dial. The leather handle is in good condition
considering age. I was not able to find the Model#, however from
doing some checking I think it is Model #553A making it from 1947. I
have not tested this radio and therefore is sold as-is. This would
make a nice addition to anyone collecting early suitcase sets.
This radio weighs about 12 lbs, so please e-mail me for the shipping
cost...it will be actual cost by Priority Mail, I will ship to only
USA and Canada and accept PayPal, MO or personal checks(held until
cleared).
