This is a fantastic Ceylon Blue Sapphire, Amethyst, Irridescent
auroraborealis Austrial Crystal Rhinestone brooch Vintage c. 1930-40s.
All stones are faux stones. This one reminds me of an 3 flower cluster
with iced leaves. It is LARGE and measures nearly THREE 3 inches
diameter. All stones are original and the fasceted ones are prong
set. There are 3 purple amethyst cabachons that appear to be glued in
(original design). Then there are 14 fantastic irridescent
auroraborealis prong set fasceted stones. THIS PIN HAS A SIMPLY
FANTASTIC color combination. This piece is approx 160 cts of gems.
This color is a very unusal design and really catches the eye. This
brooch is simply stunning on a lavender or pale blue or pink or
winter white suit. And, would make a WOW statement on your Christmas
party evening gown. I can say you will simply love it and what is
even better, it is a vintage piece to hand down to your girls. The
setting is open back and a silver plated plated metal not tarnished.
They just don't make the new ones like the old

This is the last of 3 vintage jewelry sets that I have put up for
auction. Like the others, this is a beautiful 1950's brooch and
earring ensemble that comes straight from my 84 year old mother's
drawer. They are signed Sarah Coventry.
All pieces are in excellent condition which is not surprising since
they were hardly ever worn.
This set is absolutely stunning--but I'm afraid, as usual, my
photography doesn't do it justice so please read the description
carefully too.
The set is designed as flower buds of purple and pink, this season's
big color!. The twigs and sepals surrounding the buds are done in a
lovely brushed silver tone metal. Although you can't tell from the
picture, there are fine lines etched into the twigs so that they look
realistic; and the sepals are etched similarly as well as sculpted to
look like individual leaves. It's so finely and delicately worked.
The buds are each large rhinestones; there are 26 in all. Although the
picture suggests otherwise, there is just one shade of pink and one
shade of purple. (Let the earring in the center be your guide). And
they still have their sparkle and life. All of the stones are there
and securely in place in all the pieces. I can't see any wear or
discoloration in them or in the metalwork. The pin is in solid working
order and the clip backs on the earrings are too.
The brooch is a good size, measuring a little under 2 inches across
and about 2 -3/4 inches high. The clip-on earrings measure about 1 1/4
inches high and almost an inch wide.
