THIS 6 QUART TEA KETTLE IS IN GOOD CONDITION,ALTHOUGH THE BRACKETS THAT
HOLD THE HANDLE ON, APPEAR TO HAVE SOME SURFACE RUST NOTHING MAJOR,
THE SPOUT HAS A FEW NICKS IN IT,IT HAS A DATED PAT,OF SEPTEMBER 9
1913. THE TEA KETTLE HAS BEEN USED BUT IN GOOD CONDITION. THE BOTTOM
OF THE KETTLE READS COLONIAL DESIGN 6 QUART AND HAS THE GRISWOLD
INSIGNA NUMBERED A- 536 WITH A N N UNDERNEATH IT. THIS PIECE IS VERY
HEAVY. GOOD LUCK

This is a vintage aluminum tea kettle used to heat water. On the
bottom is engraved, "Century Aluminum Ware Made in the USA". My mother
had one like this so I am assuming it is from the 1940s to 1950s. The
knob on the lid is plastic and the handle feels like wood that has
been painted black. You can tell that this pot has been well used in
the past because it has dings and indentations in it, including the
lid. It has dark marks on it and some rust. I did not clean the pot,
other than removing the dust, because I heard on a show on HGTV that
cleaning an old item can take away from the value of a collectible
item. I am leaving it just as it is and the winning bidder can do as
they see fit with it. The pot, without the handle, is approximately 5
1/4 inches high and 6 1/2 inches wide, without the spout. The spout is
about 3 1/2 inches long.
